Nemedic Founder Writes on AI, Physician Pay and Burnout in the AAO-HNS Bulletin

Dr. Brad Bichey's March 2025 column proposes guardrails so AI lightens physician workload instead of adding to it.

WESTFIELD, Ind. — The AAO-HNS Bulletin published "What's on My Mind: How We Can Navigate the AI Era" by Bradford G. Bichey, MD, MPH, on March 17, 2025.

The column looks at how AI in clinical practice could add to physician burnout under different compensation models, from flat salaries to collections-based pay. Dr. Bichey proposes guardrails, including workload caps, transparent metrics and balanced incentives.

He wrote the piece after members of the Academy's ENT Connect community began asking about AI scribes.
