Nemedic Releases Free Lookup Tool as Change Healthcare Cyberattack Disrupts Claims
Practices could check whether a patient's payer or plan was affected by the outage.

WESTFIELD, Ind. — Nemedic released a free UnitedHealth cyberattack lookup tool on March 10, 2024, after the ransomware attack on Change Healthcare, a UnitedHealth Group subsidiary, disrupted claims, prior authorizations and payments to physicians across the country.
Many insurance plans rely on Change Healthcare to process claims submissions, prior authorizations and physician payments. The tool let practices check whether a specific patient's payer or plan was affected, so staff could plan around delayed approvals.
