Nemedic Founder Awarded 2026 Women in Otolaryngology Endowment Grant for AI Tool Addressing Contract Disparities

WESTFIELD, Ind. — The American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Section for Women in Otolaryngology has awarded its 2026 WIO Endowment Grant to Bradford G. Bichey, MD, MPH, for a project titled "Identifying and Addressing Gender-Based Disparities in Employment Contracts."

The project applies machine learning to physician employment agreements to surface disparities in terms that are difficult to detect one contract at a time. The grant committee reported strong support from all reviewers.

The work extends a line Nemedic had already begun: in late 2025, the company built prototype contract-analysis agents on its Blue platform, including one designed for the WIO section.

"Contract terms are where a lot of inequity actually lives, and it is nearly invisible because nobody sees more than their own contract," Dr. Bichey said.

Project outcomes will be reported to the WIO membership.
